AVONDALE, Ariz. – Bedding manufacturer King Koil has named industry veteran Bryan Umiker senior vice president of its Smartlife Mattress by King Koil and specialty brands.

Prior to joining King Koil, Umiker was vice president of wholesale and retail partnerships with online bedding brand Casper. In addition, he was vice president of merchandising for top-of-bed supplier Sheex; served as vice president and divisional merchandise manager for furniture, mattresses and luggage with Bloomingdale’s;  was senior buyer for bedroom and bedding at Nebraska Furniture Mart; and was a buyer with Bed Bath & Beyond.

“Bryan is no question the leading merchant of luxury bedding in the United States,” said David Binke, CEO. “On top of that, he led the very successful expansion of Casper in the brick-and-mortar channel. His combination of skill on both sides of the business –retail and wholesale—translates into a powerful offering for our Smartlife series and our retail partners.”

Umiker will be responsible for business development and marketing, retailer support, supply chain and logistics for King Koil’s Smartlife.
