Serta Recalls Mattresses Due to Violation of Federal Mattress Flammability Standard and Fire Hazard (Recall Alert) | CPSC.gov

The mattresses fail to meet the mandatory federal flammability standard for mattresses, posing a fire hazard.

This recall involves Serta Perfect Sleeper-branded mattresses. The white single-sided mattresses have navy blue side panels and were sold in twin, twin XL, full, queen, king and California king sizes. They were manufactured from July 15, 2021 through August 6, 2021. The date of manufacture in DD/MM/YY, the model number and “Prototype ID: L1” can be found on a white tag sewn into the head of the mattress. The following model numbers are included in this recall:

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled mattresses and contact Serta to verify whether their mattress is included in the recall.  If their mattress is recalled, consumers will receive a free replacement mattress, including free delivery and disposal of the recalled mattress. Serta is contacting all purchasers directly.

The double wick candles can achieve higher than usual flames, causing the glass  container to break apart, posing fire and laceration hazards.

The mattresses fail to meet the mandatory federal flammability standard for mattresses, posing a fire hazard.

The connection from the seat to the seat post can break, posing a fall hazard.

The recalled dressers are unstable if not anchored to the wall, posing tip-over and entrapment hazards that may result in death or serious injuries to children. The dressers do not comply with the performance requirements of the U.S. voluntary industry standard (ASTM 2057-19). 

The recalled loungers can collapse unexpectedly, posing an injury hazard if fingers get caught in the metal folding joints.   

The metal hook fastening the ladder to the top bunk bed frame can move away or detach from the bed frame when the ladder is lifted, causing the gap between the ladder step and bed frame to open wider than 3.5 inches, posing serious entrapment and strangulation hazards.
