Holiday weekends tend to be the best times to buy a mattress, pros say. “July Fourth is one of the best holidays to get a great deal on a new mattress,” Consumer Reports writes, adding that summer holiday periods including July 4 are “when brands and retailers typically offer their biggest discounts, beating out other sales by anywhere from 5 to 15%.” Even so, buying a mattress is an expensive and it’s an important decision, as you’ll end up spending more than a third of your life in bed. With that in mind, here are the best mattress sales to consider now.

The sale: For its big July 4th, Saatva is offering $200 off purchases worth $900+; $250 off purchases worth $2,250+; $300 off purchases worth $2,500+; $350 off purchases worth $3,000+; $400 off purchases worth $3,500; and $450 off purchases worth $4,000 or more. Saatva offers a 365-day free trial on its mattresses, free in-room delivery and setup, a lifetime warranty and free mattress removal.

Why we highlighted this deal: Saatva’s classic mattress earned Good Housekeeping’s “best overall mattress” of 2022 title. “It’s like the traditional innerspring mattresses you find in stores, but with an online, direct-to-consumer platform to give it a competitive price,” Good Housekeeping writes. Wirecutter notes that the Saatva Classic is “cushy” and offers “a good amount of bounce near the top, and a plush top adds softness.” What’s more, the Saatva Classic also snagged the No. 1 spot for best spring mattress from U.S. News for 2022 and second place for best firm mattress.

Casper: Save up to $600 off mattresses

The sale: Through July 11, you can get up to $600 off mattresses offered by the O.G. bed-in-a-box juggernaut — and up to 50% off (almost) everything else (bundles, new products and sale products are excluded from the “everything else” bucket). Casper offers free delivery, a 100-night free trial and a 10-year limited warranty. Why we highlighted this deal: U.S. News named the Casper Original its “best overall mattress,” and testers at Good Housekeeping gave the Casper Original Mattress top honors too: “It is extremely comfy — so comfy that we bought two more for other beds.” And while Casper has expanded its offering beyond the original, “it’s still the most popular pick and the one we think offers the most bang for your buck,” Good Housekeeping notes.

Nectar: $100 off mattresses + $499 worth of accessories free

The sale: As part of its 4th of July “Super Sale,” Nectar is offering up to $100 off select mattresses and a bundle of about $499 worth of accessories for free with purchase: A cooling pillow, sheet set, and mattress protector. Currently, a Queen standard Nectar mattress is marked down to $799 (originally $1,398).

Why we highlighted this deal: Mattress Clarity says Nectar offers “a very comfortable memory foam mattress that happens to also be an amazing value.” The reviewer also notes they are great for joint and hip pain.  And Sleepopolis gives it five stars for motion isolation, which makes it a good pick for couples.

Amerisleep: Save $450 with code AS450

For Amerisleep’s big sale, you can save $450 off any of their award-winning mattresses using the code AS450. Amerisleep offers a 100-night free trial, a 20-year warranty and free shipping.

Why we highlighted this deal: CNET gives Amerisleeps AS2 mattress its best mattress for back pain honor. “Even when I changed positions throughout the night, the mattress adjusted quickly, cradling my body and giving it the weightless feel that really takes the edge of the day off, the reviewer writes. “The medium-firm feel also properly supported my spine without any of the sinking or sagging that can come with softer memory foam.” With these savings, you can get a full AS2 mattress for $799 and a queen for $849 (marked down from $1249 and $1299, respectively).

Mattress Firm: Save up to $500

The sale: Mattress Firm’s Fourth of July sale goes through July 6 — and there are multiple markdowns to take advantage of. Perhaps most notably, you can save up to $500 on select mattresses and receive a free adjustable base if you purchase certain mattresses over $699. You can also get free delivery for most mattresses in a box and up to  20% off frames and foundations.

Why we highlighted this deal: Mattress Firm has tons of brands on sale — including Sealy, Serta, Tempur-Pedic, Purple, Tuft and Needle, and more — so if you aren’t sure what you want (and might want that free base), this may be the sale to shop.

Raymour & Flanigan: Save up to $1,000

The sale: At Raymour & Flanigan, you can get up to $550 off a Tempur-Pedic mattress set, as well as up to $1000 off select mattresses as part of its big July 4th sale.

Why we highlighted this deal: Raymour & Flanigan gets over 80% excellent reviews on Trustpilot, where some reviewers say it’s an especially great place to shop brick-and-mortar for a mattress if you’re looking to hit the stores in person this holiday.
