Mattress brand Puffy is making a push into brick-and-mortar retail partnerships.

NORTH HOLLYWOOD, Calif. – Direct-to-consumer bedding brand Puffy is making a push to lineup partnerships with brick-and-mortar retailers.

The company, founded in 2016, will make its inaugural showing at the summer Las Vegas Market in a 3,000-square-foot showroom in its move to expand beyond its DTC roots. The boxed bed company will feature its three-mattress lineup at the summer market along with a selection of pillows, mattress protectors and bed linens. The company’s showroom is located at B-905.

The Puffy Original is a 10-inch memory foam mattress with medium firm comfort and is priced to retail at $1,049 in queen. The 12-inch Puffy Lux Hybrid offers specialized cooling foam layers at $1,499; and the company’s Royal Hybrid is a 14-inch hybrid mattress featuring advanced cooling technology and exclusive foam layers retailing at $2,399.

In addition to securing the showroom in Las Vegas, the company has hired to bedding industry veterans to lead its retail-centric push. Bill Huertas has been named senior vice president of operations and distribution and Brent Biermann is the company’s new retail general manager.

Prior to joining Puffy, Huertas has held executive positions with FXI, A. Lava & Son and Spring Air Northeast. Most recently, Beirmann was with XSensor Technology and held positions with King Koil, Sealy and Serta.

“Clearly there is a trend of e-tailers going to brick-and-mortar retailers,” Beirmann said. “It’s a paradigm shift. We are getting out of the gate a little later, but we have a proven product, and we drive traffic to retailers’ stores. Door swings are tight right now, and retailers are looking for ways to drive traffic.”

Puffy has recently gone live with its dealer locator on its website.
